Abstract
These scrapbooks, spanning from 1899 to 1945, contain notifications from the Barnard administration to students on a nearly daily basis.
Description
Administrative notifications documented changes in policy and campus expansions. The materials include letters from the Dean’s Office, the Bursar, an issue of the Barnard Bulletin, reminders about mail and locker policies, lists of admitted students separated by whether they were admitted with conditions in particular subjects, handwritten midterm and final examination schedules, Commencement announcements, funeral and service notices, scholarship offers, entrance examination reminders, calls for time cards, chapel service conductors, requirements for department honors based on class standing, class cancellation notes, and an announcement that Barnard had purchased 3.5 acres of land from 116th Street to 119th Street on Broadway thanks to a $1,000,000 anonymous donation. These scrapbooks display the events and regulations of the College.
